CM Ebrahim puts focus on collaborative efforts for Bangsamoro welfare in FY 2024

COTABATO CITY—Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim emphasized the Government of the Day’s continuous operation throughout the fiscal year (FY) 2024 to better serve the Bangsamoro people.

This was emphasized last Dec. 29, 2023, during CM Ebrahim’s signing of the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA) No. 56, otherwise known as “An Act Appropriating Funds for the Operation of the Bangsamoro Government from January 1 to December 31, 2024, and for Other Purposes.”

As approved by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament on Dec. 21, the Bangsamoro Government’s budget for FY 2024 is P98,467,200,000.00, prioritizing the education, infrastructure projects, healthcare, and social services sectors.

Alongside BAA No. 56, Ebrahim also signed BAA Nos. 51, 52, 53, 54, and 55.

According to the Chief Minister, the meaningful passage of different laws by the Members of Parliament reflects unity amidst diversity and demonstrates strength in democracy.

He also reaffirmed the concerted efforts of the Bangsamoro leaders and constituents, resulting in an effective means of implementing relevant programs and rendering significant services to the Bangsamoro people.

“The Government of the Day is confident that with the support of everybody from the BTA, our fellow government workers, civil society, and the citizens in general, we can all better serve the Bangsamoro people,” Ebrahim highlighted.

He added that the transitional government will not waver in its resolve to uplift the lives of the Bangsamoro, and that the success of the Bangsamoro Government translates to the victory of the Bangsamoro constituents.

Promoting good governance by enhancing enabling policies that impel transparency, accountability, and improvement of overall public financial management aligns with CM Ebrahim’s first priority under his Enhanced 12-Point Priority Agenda. (Johamin Inok/BIO)
