CDO exec gives 18 new vehicles to COCPO

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Targeting to decrease crime incidence and foster a safer city, Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy turned over 10 new patrol cars and 8 police motorcycles to the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), September 21, at the Executive Building, City Hall, here.

“Tungod tingali pud sa among mapait, masakit nga kasinatian sa among kinabuhi, mao’y usab nakapadasig kanamo sa paghatag og dugang suporta sa kapulisan nga sa panahon nga naa’y mangayo og sangpit sa ilang pakitabang, duna sila’y magamit nga sakyanan,” Uy said.

(This aid could also root from our bitter and painful experience in our life–this inspired us to give additional support to the police that in times when people ask for help, the police will have a vehicle to use to respond)

For his part, Councilor Romeo Calizo, who is also the chair for the Police, Fire and Public Safety Committee, said the 10 units of four-wheel drive will be distributed to the 10 police stations in the city, Police Stations 1-10.

The eight units of motorcycles will be centrally managed at COCPO. “Siguro (Maybe) these will be utilized multi-role for traffic management for VIP management, VIP protection, and others,” Calizo added.

Receiving the units from the city government, COCPO City Director Col. Aaron Mandia extended his gratitude to the officials of the city saying, “We swear to continue doing our responsibilities to the best that we can bring honor not only to the Philippine National Police but the city as well.”

He also urged the members of the police to take care of the vehicles citing that since the units are brand new, they can last for a long time. Mandia also ensured the city government that the vehicles will be well-maintained.

Station commanders who graced the blessing and turnover ceremony of the vehicles include PS1 PMaj Sebastian Chua, Jr., PS2 PMaj Julius Saluta, PS3 PCapt Ernesto Sanchez, PS4 PMaj Mario Mantala, PS5 PMaj Ericson Sabanal, PS6 PMaj Peter Tajor, PS7 PMaj Jerson Estanilla, PS8 PMaj Aldrin Baculio, PS9 PMaj Allan Cairel, and PS10 PMaj Rutherford Ondin.
