AT LEAST 8,809 security personnel are now deployed all over Bangsamoro region together with 800 augmented forces from different regions to render duties for the synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on October 30, with the alert status elevated to FULL ALERT, Top PNP Officials said.
PBGEN Allan C. Nobleza said all checkpoints in strategic areas and border control are all beefed up and are working in close coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other law enforcement agencies to ensure a coordinated response and swift resolution of any issues.
Nobleza addressed all deployed personnel, thanking them for their adherence and commitment to serve, and reminding them to uphold at all times professionalism and dedication to preserve the democratic process.
“In adherence to the CPNP’s stance for this election season-Election day will remain under our control, and we will not tolerate any disruptions or threats to the peaceful exercise of our people’s right to vote,” Nobleza added.
It could be recalled that earlier, Nobleza reported that they have closely monitored Marawi and Lamitan cities, including 30 towns in BARMM, along with 63 villages in Cotabato province have been designated as areas of grave concern ahead of BSKE on October 30.
Meanwhile, Nobleza also ordered an in-depth and thorough investigation into a fire incident involving public schools intended to be used as polling centers for tomorrow’s BSKE.
The school buildings of Brgys Ruminimbang, Barira, Maguindanao Del Norte, and classrooms of Pilot Elementary Schools Barangay Publacion, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao Del Norte were set on fire days before the conduct of the 2023 BSKE.
PRO-BAR are now working closely with the men on the ground for necessary actions and to expedite the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and hold them accountable for the crimes, and rest assured the public that the situation is under control, and that this appalling incident will be taken accordingly, Nobleza said
