WORLD CLASS CHORAL GROUP. Villanueva Chorale performs their winning pieces in the recently concluded Busan Choral Festival and Competition 2022 held in Busan, South Korea on Oct. 19-22, 2022 where they emerged as champion in Pop and Acapela categories, as well as in Ethnic presentaion. They also ended the competition with a runner-up finish in the Grand Prix. Villanueva, Misamis Oriental Municipal Mayor Jennie Uy-Mendez, who accompanied the group during the competition, has expressed her gratitude for the support they got from individuals and institutions that made their Busan journey possible. She hailed the 25-member choral group for their extended patience and perseverance and the able leadership of maestro Ralph Ramos who painstakenly steered the group into a world class singing group. The gruop was feted with a welcome celebration Saturday, October 29 at at the Uy’s-owned Julio’s Café in Mat-i, Claveria, Misamis Oriental. Also ecstatic with the choral group’s success were Mayor Jennie’s parents, former congresswoman Juliette Uy and Atty. Julio Uy, who both vowed to provide continued support to any initiatives that would enhance the growth and development of the municipality of Villanueva.
