MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–To even push youth organizations to further strive for their opted business backed with bannered advocacies, the 3rd Ranaw Project Grant Program (RPGP) through the sponsorship of Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) gave P75,000 additional cash grant to its top five groups whose social enterprises performed well.
Among the organizations that received the grant were Kapagaroy sa Walay, Polybricks, Green by Design, Kakaw Meranaw and Malami.
Provincial Board Member Jamil Faisal “Jeff” Adiong, whose office was behind the program, shared that the RPGP is one of their youth initiatives to improve the economic sector of Lanao del Sur province.
“This is dahil nakikita natin na when we say youth development, we cannot realize it if we do not have economic development in place. It is hard to realize youth development without looking into the economic aspect,” he said.
The board member said the 3rd RPGP involved youth organizations that underwent intensive training for the development of enough skills and knowledge in managing their chosen social enterprises.
They were also given equipment and roughly P30,000 grant for the implementation of their proposed social enterprises.
Adiong further said that with the 3rd RPGP’s well-performing social enterprises, the province must be up in materializing the eventual progress in the province.
“It has to be a challenge to us, to each here in the province of Lanao del Sur to do better and do something for our community,” he said.
The 3rd RPGP was an initiative of the Office of Board Member Jeff Adiong in partnership with some sponsors including Plan International, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) – Philippines, Save the Children Philippines, Office of Deputy Speaker Zia Adiong, PBSP and Raheemah Peace Weavers Producer Cooperatives.
